The software bug causing it to turn off at an altitude of around 10km was fixed allowing me to gather data throughout nearly the whole flight. Due to unknown reasons, the data only got uploaded at an altitude of over 3km which was likely a problem with the bad internet connection at the launch site.

I addition to the ReSonde, environmental data was recorded using Strato 3 datalogger. Here are the condensed results:

Data from the German weather service is also in the comparison. The DWD launched an RS41 at around the same time roughly 70km to the south. Sadly, this flight already ended at an altitude of 26km which limited the comparable data.

Lets start with the temperature:
One will quickly notice that the temperature curves of all three data sets are very similar in shape yet offset. The DWD dataset has the coldest temperatures and is assumed to be the correct baseline. The ReSonde measured temperatures up to 9.5°C warmer than this which I assume is caused by the sun heating the sensor. An increade of this effect can be seen over the course of the ascent which is caused by the decreasing temperature making it more difficult for the temperature sensor to loose heat. The Strato3 recorded way too hot temperatures which was likely caused by the large black sensor board it uses.

The measured humidity is way off from the DWD data which was likely due to the different launch location. However, it can be seen that the data of the ReSonde is generally similar to the data of the Strato3 which leads me to believe that my measured data was somewhat correct. The sharp temperature spike at just over 8km is present on both measurements but less distributed on the ReSonde measurement which could be cause by a faster response time of the ReSondes HMC03M humidity sensor.

I am quite happy with these results and will be continuing to improve the ReSonde! Soon, there will be a rather big update of the hardware which will also be announced in a post on this website.
